The Fine Print: Let's talk about tees!

New Recruits

Military inspired fashion trends are never too far away and as the structured, symmetrical looks fly off store shelves, we thought we'd take a look at some of our military design ideas.

Tasteful Thanks

We at DesignAShirt think we’re pretty good at taking care of our customers. We offer unparalleled one-on-one customer support and attention. If you call, email or live-chat with us, we’re here to help and we give your orders the same attention we give you. Every order is seen and reviewed by real people, on site at our production facility, so we think we’re also pretty savvy about catching the orders that are seemingly innocuous. And so was the case when our Customer Care Team received three consecutive orders by the same “customer” for high dollar amounts. All the information was accurate and everything verified properly but our Customer Care Team was concerned since the orders were shipping to a different address other than the billing address. So they did a little digging and tried to find a home number for the customer. You wouldn’t believe how many Maria R.’s there are in the Washington, D.C. area! After an exhaustive search and voicemails left for more than a few Marias we finally received a call back from the right Maria who promptly verified our hunch was correct. We later found out the criminals had been racking up charges all over town for over a week unbeknownst to Maria. Thanks to our Customer Care Team’s one-on-one support and attention, we were able to help her report the fraud to her credit card company. Weeks later this arrived…

While unnecessary and unexpected, was very much appreciated by our team. Glad we could help!

Small Business Saturday

Have you joined the movement?

DesignAShirt may be a national online retailer but we are still a family-owned small business and this holiday season, American Express is encouraging customers nationwide to shop at small businesses like ours on Small Business Saturday (the day after Black Friday). What makes Saturday so special? Well, if you shop at a registered AMEX Small Business, American Express will give the first 100,000 card members a $25 statement credit and for every Facebook "Like" they receive, will donate $1 (up to $500,000) to Girls, Inc., a charitable organization empowering young women. For those of you who aren't an American Express card member, DesignAShirt will give $25 OFF to all customers who place an order on Small Business Saturday.

Thinking Outside of the Box

If you've moved once or twice in your lifetime, I'm sure you know that feeling of being overwhelmed by an abundance of empty boxes. With the shipments we receive on a daily basis we too are sometimes overwhelmed by the same problem and although we are fortunate enough to have weekly pickups to recycle our extra boxes, we are always looking for ways to reuse and recycle.

And we think we’ve found one.

There is no bigger job we can think of than making our customers happy and there's no better feeling than opening a box of new goodies. The rush. The excitement. So we are re-purposing some of the boxes we receive to be that for our customers . Sure, those boxes could grow up to be a notepad to pen your next novel and some of them will but even better for the boxes that won’t, they’ll become the box you waited all day for FedEx to deliver. The tape ripping, box opening joy of seeing your new custom t-shirts, apparel or accessories. Plus, we kinda like that we're helping the environment by doing so. If you're lucky enough to get one of our re-purposed boxes with our “green” label, pay it forward and pass it on.

All That Glitters Isn’t Gold…It’s Cotton.

Looks like the lack of supplies and the rising demand of cotton worldwide has increased the price of cotton by 100% this year alone compared to the 29% increase of gold. Who does this affect? Unfortunately, everyone! Some manufacturers and retailers, will be adjusting their blends to keep costs down, meaning that 50/50 blend tee you like so much may be 75/25 blend tee. Take a guess which one is cotton? While others like  Levis, Kohl's, Hanes, Abercombie, Aeropastale, Guess, all our favorite brands will soon have to succumb to the rising pressures of the price surge in raw materials. So, the same pair of jeans or t-shirts you've become accustomed to is going to cost just a little bit more than usual come Spring, if not sooner.

Please note: DesignAShirt is making an effort to cut costs in other areas so our customers won't be impacted by this.
